  • 'Outstanding' Inspection November 2012

    Sun 11 Nov 2012

We were visited by Inspectors from the Diocese and Archdiocese last week as part of our OFSTED inspection. I delighted to inform you of the initial key findings, which reaffirmed that ‘Hope Primary is an Outstanding School!’

Inspectors were in awe of the achievements of our pupils and the work we do for children, their families and the community.

They described the school as ‘Warm, welcoming, enthusing and inspirational!’

Inspectors were impressed with the achievements of our children, their behaviour and outstanding attitudes to learning and the progress they make.

We look forward to sharing the full report with you when it becomes available.

  • An Amazing year at Hope...

    Fri 17 Aug 2012

The year seems to have flown over and we have achieved so much in such a short space of time. The building is beginning to look more established as we make it our own.

Ofsted came to inspect the quality of learning

and teaching back in April and judged us to be ‘A good school with some outstanding aspects’, an accolade which is well deserved.

Our curriculum continues to develop with a range of visits and visitors and is enhanced by focus

    weeks and activities.

Adult learning plays a big part in our community and we are proud of their achievements... so all in all, it’s congratulations all round!

  • Grease

    Fri 20 Jul 2012

Y6 entertained us with their production of Grease earlier this week. It was a huge success and the children received an outstanding ovation! Many thanks to the children and the staff who worked together to ensure it was such a huge success.

Check out our photogallery for some great photos!

  • Congratulations!

    Fri 13 Jul 2012

Children in all phases have achieved their best results ever! Well done everyone...

In Foundation Stage, children improved on last years results by a huge 12% and have exceeded Knowsleys average.

In Key Stage 1, pupils improved on last years achievements in all areas and achieved our highest results ever for KS1 which will give them a strong foundation to work from as they enter KS2.

In KS2, we achieved significantly higher than than Knowsley and national averages and in particular at the higher levels!

We are proud of our results and pupil achievements which are testament to the hard work of all pupils and staff. We need to carry out a full data analysis and once data has been validated we will interpret and share it more fully with children, staff, parents and governors. Initial data indicates that progress is good and outstanding in all key stages. Attainment is accelerated in KS2 as children achieve above and exceed national expectations at all levels.

  • Literacy Week

    Mon 02 Jul 2012

During the week of the 25th June we held our annual literacy week which was enjoyed by all. The aim was to immerse our children in literature and culture; encourage them to take an interest in Liverpool past and present and provide them with opportunities to write.

To facilitate this, we arranged for all the children in KS1 and KS2 to visit the Museum of Liverpool; told stories in the tepee, held a book fair; instigated shared reading sessions between year groups and held a public speaking session in the school hall. In addition, drama sessions were held by Mrs Bignall from Christ the King.

Literacy week was a huge success with all the children and staff commenting on how much they enjoyed it.

  • Y2 visit to Crosby Hall

    Mon 30 Apr 2012

Children and staff had a fantastic time during their residential visit to Crosby Hall earlier this term. The weekend was a great success with all 28 children enjoying themselves, having fun and gaining some new skills. They visited Wirral Spaceport t on their way and enjoyed a trip on the ferry before spending the rest of the weekend at the hall doing various activities. Children built shelters in the woods, took part in orienteering and confidence building courses as well as pottery and making photograms. From the comments written by the children upon their return, it is obvious that they had some wonderful experiences and some have even put their names down already to take part in the trip once again , next year!

Staff who gave up their time and weekend to support the children during the visit, worked (and played) very hard but said it was a rewarding experience which they enjoyed very much!
