Jonny Mellor
Mon 03 Feb 2014Jonny Mellor who runs the 5K for Great Britain was a welcome guest today. He inspired the children by telling them about his training and his aspirations for the future. he also stressed to the children how important it is to eat healthily, get lots of rest by having a good nigh't sleep and that it's important to work hard in school incase you don't achieve your dream. Jonny is hoping to compete in the next Olympics. Go Jonny go!!! -
Hope Remembers
Mon 11 Nov 2013Today children in Years 5 and 6 experienced a range of activities as part of their WWII project. They cooked using rations, jived together and made newspaper reports as the latest information came in from the War Office. They tracked the tracked the progress of our fleet, built anderson shelters and explored Germany today. They also filmed news reports and interviewed key people as well as meeting evacuees.

MacMillan Cake Sale
Wed 25 Sep 2013A cake sale was held in school last week in aid of Macmillan nurses. Children and staff got together to make some fancy cakes which were sold to parents and children. We are greatful to the kitchen staff who boosted our supplies with their own 'Bakathon'! -
Harvest Time
Wed 25 Sep 2013We were delighted to welcome Jamie the Chef from the Huyton Suites, into school last week to help the children cook some of the vegetables they had harvested. The children enjoyed digging the potatoes onions and beetroots up and picking the beans. We celebrated the harvest in school with our harvest festival. -
End of Term Celebrations
Mon 29 Jul 2013The school year closed with a final assembly for pupils and staff. There were lots of rewards distributed which included Book Awards, Sporting Awards, Attendance Awards and Achievement Awards. We said a sad good bye to Mrs Hegharty, Mr Hopkins, Mrs Hawkins and Mrs Shinks, thanking them for their contributions to Hope Primary and wishing them all the best for the future . Stephen Twigg, Shadow Secretary of State for Education visits Hope Primary
Sat 20 Jul 2013We were delighted to welcome Stephen Twigg last Friday as he visited Hope Primary. He toured every class and chatted to children and staff as he engaged in their learning. During his visit, he was presented with a 'Golden Ticket" which gave him entry to afternoon tea with a group of children.
